HALC Overview

Formed by the merger of Bank of Scotland with the Halifax in 2001, HBOS is one of the UK's largest high street banks. It strengths remain in its respective parts. Halifax is still the UK's number one mortgage lender while Bank of Scotland is one of the UK's leading clearing banks, which offers full banking services for personal, business and corporate customers.
